Gabry Ponte inspired by Kim Larsen?

Hey.

I remember reading about this question on nettips.dk. For those of you who don't know who Kim Larsen is, I can tell you that he is a danish music icon..And I guess Gabry Ponte doesn't need any introduction? Anyway the songs are suppose to sound similar... I can hear the similarity, but feel free to judge for yourself? Smile

Geordie is actually an old Scottish ballad aka Ballad 209. He used the Fabrizio Andre Version. Kim Langebro might have translated the english to Danish. The Eurotrance version reminds me of that version.

From what i could get off google, Geordie by Fabrizio de André is from an album released in 1990 while "Langebro" is from an album released in 1971, but it's hard to say who stole from who.. the short answer must be Alessio's...

Nono people .. Geordie is an old old folktale from Italy long before any of us was born Smile I don't think Kim Larsen stole the melody or anything like that, and the chords are not 100 % alike in Langebro and Geordie..

Yes the text is an old folk tale... the melody is not.
Anyway Gabry's version is still a cover version of the Fabrizio de André song.

As far as I know.. Kim Larsen also got it from that Fabrizio guy... once he was in italy Smile

we have 2 person in denmark that have a huge mouth..

1 is a old danish Actor: Dirch Passer (He passed away 1980)

and then Kim Larsen Laughing out loud

Funny that you pay attention to the mouth , thats just what hes known for ( among other things such as making music , but well ... mostly the mouth! ) in Denmark Laughing out loud
