Dear Rise FM listeners,

Our new server is finally here.
Here is some positive things:

1. You will be able to connect(listen) to the radio faster!
2. New streams will be oppened soon! 256kbps, 128kbps, 56kbps aac+
3. We can support more than 1000 listeners now.
4. Less buffering (if any)

Thats about it. We will be working on opening the new streams. Until then, enjoy the shows. And the new radio server!

We have successfully the new streams for you

From now on you have 3 types of stream to choose from.

32kb/s AAC+ - http://208.84.148.86:8032/listen.pls
128kb/s MP3 - http://208.84.148.86:8000/listen.pls
256kb/s MP3 - http://208.84.148.86:8256/listen.pls

unfortunately we had some problems with "Artist - Title showing" on our streams, so the only stream that shows Artist and Title of the song playing, is : 256kb/s Mp3

The others are locked with a specific text

But for those who can not listen to 256, and still want to know what song thats playing, Can just join our mIRC channel on Quakenet and type !Song

As you all know, We have had some problems with the new streams we have set up, with it going down, or buffing..

This should be over now, that we have upgraded the server.

All streams now also have artist - title and a Great Sound..

32kbps low bandwith has got an makeover and 128kbps medium bandwith with same upgrades. The solution was to setup an Transcoder instead of running 2 SAM Broadcasters, All thanks to our good friend Platinium

We are currently working on getting RiseFM.net better,
This consernes both the Servers ( 256/128/32kb/s ) And making the Homepage Better/Faster.

This sadly means that there will be no music for you untill we are done
But Don't worry to much, We will be back before you even know we were gone!

Also we will but a Countdown on the page, when we know more about it.

We are looking forward to play music to you again, and building a better place together!

sad news.. but all that buffering was seriously annoying so i'm glad you're fixing it this fast

I agree 100% with you

I found out what the problem was, when i contacted one of the supporters of the shoutcast server..

apparently our 3 shoutcast servers was peaking 1500mhz CPU usage (Our package only allowed us to use 300) - and the supporter limited to 200 :/

so the shoutcast was a little weird on their servers

The Good thing is that we wont have that problem when we relaunch

Everything should work as WE want it to work
