Danijay - Plug & Play

Danijay is finally back with a new album entitled Plug & Play including 31 songs and remixes of both old and new productions.

Instead of just releasing an ordinary album Danijay has come up with the idea of selling it on a digital mp4-player which besides the 31 tracks includes:

  • Over 30 minutes of video
  • 100 pictures of the world of Danijay
  • Lyrics
  • Biography, Discography and other Danijay info
  • Wallpapers
  • Ringtones

Technical specifications of the mp4-player:
- Totally customizable and reusable Audio/Video player
- 1GB or 2GB memory
- 1,8" screen, lithium battery, USB 2.0
- High Resolution (up to 48000Hz stereo 384Kbps) Voice Recorder (WAV and MP3)
- 2.5mm mini-jack earphones and USB cable supplied
- Support MP3, WAV, AMV, JPG, MBP, GIF, TXT, LRC
- Karaoke function
- Data storage function.

The 1GB version costs 24.90€ and is available from the 25th of June in the newly launched Danijay Store.
I should add that the album will not be released in CD format.

I don't agree for the fact that the album isn't distribuited as a normal audio CD!
I'll not obtain full quality Sad

But... It's a nice idea if you are planning to gift this Album/Player to a friend for his birthday or something.

I can't use the player for anything because I already have a better one, so I'm going to buy this, rip all the content to the pc and burn the music to a CD.

I think it's a funny idea but they should at the same time have released a CD because most people I've talked with just want a CD. It's a smart move though because they would probably sell less players if they released a CD, that doesn't make it less annoying if you ask me though. Another thorn in the side is the fact that you pay 25€ for mp3 music in 192kbs... that's almost a robbery. I am going to buy this no matter what, however.
The tracklist is still amazing Smile

aargh!
Those coloured shirts are availeble from 2/07/08... so i have to wait one week before i can make my order...
Cause white is sooo not my colour! hahah

The album is first available the day after tomorrow.. so you can't order today anyway Wink

Why?

Was my first thought.

Sure it's very revolutionary to release an album like this but why not put it on 2xcd (+DVD?) as well. Now it seems very few people will support this otherwise great album Sad

you are right indeed.. I discussed it with Dj Aquacrash the other day. It is indeed revolutionary but there is no point in being revolutionary for the revolution's fault. It could be a step backwards aswell as an evolution. I could imagine that danijay just thought "Hey let's make something never seen before!" while he forgot to consider how the musical business actually is working and completely ignoring the consumers actual expectations.
I'm sure Danijay doesn't know what a target group is.. xD

I'm pissed off but feel kinda' bad for the Danijay Team.

They have a great album here, dare I say the best Italo release this year, but because it's released this way I don't think it's going to sell very well (but hey, maybe I'm wrong!)

And now they're asking more for it?

Plz open your eyes and release it old fashion way. A double cd perhaps coupled with a dvd and I'm buying it. Hell, I could easily pay 25€ for that Smile

i have to wait to buy it till 2 july, cause then the shirts will be availeble, and don't want to pay 2 times shipping costs, so hopefully he will wait till after that!

just recieved an email from the shop, maybe some good news Smile

otherwise the songs were in 192 kbps (or something like that) and now they are on a better level, so the sound quality will be better.
And about the cd's, from what i understand, you can buy 2 cd's with a nice danijay front, so you can burn the cd's by yourself for in the car for example Smile
